PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device manufacturing method with which a precisely shaped optical device can be continuously produced at low cost by a simple step. SOLUTION: This is the method for manufacturing an optical device containing a lower clad layer 1 and a core layer. The lower clad layer 1 is coated using a lower clad layer coating having a photosetting material as the main component, and is then irradiated with light while a groove part 4 corresponding to the core layer is printed with a roll printing plate 11 on the surface of the coated lower clad layer 1.
