A device is disclosed for washing vehicle wheels with a rim and a tyre mounted thereon, comprising a supporting member for supporting a wheel, so that the wheel may rotate about its axis of symmetry, and means for driving a rotation of the wheel about said axis of symmetry in alternating directions during the washing of a wheel. A water nozzle provides a jet of water at high pressure towards a side surface of the wheel and the point of impingement of the jet of water on the side surface of the wheel is displaced in a radial direction along the wheel. |
