PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diagnostic method capable of diagnosing the aged deterioration of a voltage application device using oil immersion paper into which mineral oil series insulating oil is impregnated such as an oil immersion paper capacitor. SOLUTION: In a voltage application device in which insulating paper is dipped in mineral oil series insulating oil, the aged deterioration of the voltage application device using the oil immersion paper into which the mineral oil series insulating oil is impregnated is diagnosed by the detection of one, or two or more of the degree of the generation of wax generated in the voltage application device or the loss property of the device changed according to the degree, insulated resistance characteristic, the value of a temperature rise, a partial discharge property, and the amount of gas in the oil.
