<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having an LED backlight, wherein reduction in light emitting efficiency of an LED is suppressed, damage of the LED is prevented and bright and long life liquid crystal display can be performed. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is constituted of a liquid crystal display panel 1 and a backlight provided with a light guide plate 4 and a light source body disposed at an end surface of the light guide plate 4. The light source body comprises an insulation substrate 8, a plurality of light emitting diode modules 7 arranged and mounted on one principal surface of the insulation substrate 8 and each having a light emitting diode chip 7a housed therein, a heat sink substrate 10 disposed on the other principal surface side of the insulation substrate 8 and a heat radiation sheet 9 of a cross-sectional U shape coming in contact with one principal surface (a front surface) and the other principal surface (a rear surface) of the insulation substrate 8 and a lower surface making a right angle with the both principal surfaces. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
