METHOD FOR HEATING/DECOMPOSING CONTAMINANT AND HALOGENATED AROMATIC COMPOUND DECOMPOSITION AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand the range of selection of a halogenated aromatic compound decomposition agent to be added in a method for heating/decomposing a contaminant for decomposing a halogenated aromatic compound by heating the contaminant such as contaminated soil or contaminated deposit containing the halogenated aromatic compound, and to solve the problem wherein an essentially effective material is not used as the halogenated aromatic compound decomposition agent.

SOLUTION: The method for heating/decomposing contaminant is for heating the contaminant 31 containing the halogenated aromatic compound in a heater 11 and decomposing and treating the halogenated aromatic compound. A metal chloride is added to the contaminant 31 and is heated under the presence of oxygen gas.
