PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple, rapid and precise qualitative/quantitative analysis method for qualitatively/quantitatively analyzing a polymeric compound, in a surfactant-containing sample, wherein the presence of the polymeric compound is estimated, without requiring pretreatment for separating the polymeric compound from a surfactant. SOLUTION: The qualitative/quantitative analysis method is constituted so as to qualitatively/quantitatively analyze the polymeric compound in the surfactant-containing sample, wherein the presence of the polymeric compound is estimated, using a high-speed liquid chromatography (HPLC) system, having a column and a light scattering detector and has a process (1) for supplying the sample to the column to separate the polymeric compound in the sample and a process (2) for qualitatively/quantitatively analyzing the separated polymeric compound by the light-scattering detector.
