The invention involves the use of a PDF file, augmented with Private PDF tags that conform to the Adobe PDF 1.3 specification. This file, termed a wrapper, serves to organize the various elements of the saved job, namely the display resolution image data, print resolution image data, and the job programming file, as well as provides the infrastructure to manipulate the saved job independent of the operating and file system of the host computer.
