PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable expanding or folding with rare need of time and labor. SOLUTION: The folding stand is provided with a runner 6 that is freely movable along a rod 1 and fit on the rod 1 and with a plurality of stretchers 3 whose tips are axially, swingably and freely supported by the ribs 2 at their predetermined positions and whose base ends are axially, swingably and freely supported by the runner 6 so that the mounting point 5 of an ellipse whose focal point is the position of the cap 4 and the position of the runner 6 comes to the top of a rotary ellipsoid gained by making the line connected with the focal points an axis and all the dimensional lengths of the stretchers 3 do not become the same.
