<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and slim display device utilizing the space which is apt to be left unused, as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device is equipped with a liquid crystal panel and a backlight that emits light to the liquid crystal display.
