PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device where a fur brush linearly comes into contact with the surface of an image carrier by a linear contact shape part processed to be deformed and surely scrapes and removes a foreign matter such as developer stuck or formed on the surface of the image carrier, by which the life of the image carrier is prolonged to realize the reduction of cost, and whose foreign matter scraping ability is improved to prevent an abnormal image from being formed, and to provide a process cartridge and an image forming apparatus equipped with the cleaning device. SOLUTION: The cleaning device is constituted of a base substance held to be turnable, movable or fixable, the fur brush 2 provided on the base substance 1 and abutting on the surface of the image carrier 51 to form a nip part (N), cleaning threads 3 being a plurality of thread-shaped ones forming the fur brush 2, and the linear contact shape part 4 composed of shape linearly coming into contact with the surface of the image carrier 51 and formed on the outer edge of the line cross section of the cleaning thread 3.
