A device to guide a metal sheet packet (2) into a housing (4) and/or a rotor shaft in a rotary electrical machine comprises a guide groove in the packet into which the guide grips. The guide comprises an electrically insulated material at least in a contact region with the groove. An independent claim is also included for a rotary electrical machine as above.
