The device has a holding pin (2) cooperating with a tube (6) for attaining a locking position in which the pin locks the tube in order to fix base of a bench seat on a floor pan. The pin cooperates with a pull rod (1) to attain an unlocking position in which the pin liberates the tube in order to lift the base. The pin is mounted in rotation around an axle (9) parallel to the tube. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle with a bench seat having a removable base, including a seat base fixing device.
