<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical drum brake device enabling the easy installation of a guide pipe. <P>SOLUTION: The guide pipe 64 is fixed in the state of a flange-like part 66 formed on the end part outer peripheral surface thereof held between the peripheral projection 62 of an anchor block 54 and one surface 10a of a backing plate 10. Accordingly, when the guide pipe 64 is mounted, it is inserted into an insertion hole 60 from one surface 10a side, the anchor block 54 is fitted thereto from one surface 10a side, and the anchor block 54 is fixed to the backing plate 10.
