The piezo-electric actuator unit (13) has a housing section in which is installed a stack actuator (8) with two contact pins (5) and electrical connecting wires. For the transmitting of the length change of the stack actuator the top and bottom ends of the actuator unit are closed off by a baseplate, and the chamber (16) between the stack actuator and housing section is filled with a sealing substance which has a gel which is constructed especially with a high elastic stretchability and a low Shore-hardness. The gel is formed on a base of silicon. An independent claim is included for a fuel injector for an internal combustion engine constructed with an actuator unit as a drive for a valve unit.
