PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a production phase and an environment phase of a battery by preventing generation of stamping chaff of metal foil such as aluminum foil to be alloyed with lithium, in a nonaqueous electrolyte battery where a negative electrode is composed by forming a lithium alloy layer on a positive electrode-side surface of a lithium plate having a shape such as a circle or a nearly oval shape other than a nearly polygonal shape. SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte battery having a negative electrode, a positive electrode and a nonaqueous electrolyte in a battery case is characterized by that the negative electrode comprises a structure where a lithium alloy layer made by alloying lithium with the metal foil is formed on the positive electrode-side surface of the lithium plate by using an atypical layered product composed by stacking, on one surface of the lithium plate 20 having the shape other than a nearly polygonal shape, the metal foil 21 to be alloyed with lithium having a nearly polygonal shape having an area smaller than that of the lithium plate.
