PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently distribute files to each server and delete unnecessary files. SOLUTION: In an automatic file distribution method in which at least one file is distributed to each server 3 from a file management terminal 1, a configuration management information file 8 is provided, which stores, for each server, configuration management information, such as file names, distributing positions in a server and so on, in a file to be distributed among at least one file. Files relating to each other in at least one file to be distributed to each sever are grouped, and each group is incorporated into the configuration management information of each file in the configuration management information file. Then, the corresponding file is distributed to the storage part 24 of a designated server based on each configuration management information stored in the configuration management information file according to file distribution instructions designating a server and a group.
