PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease code search errors while increasing measurement point density. SOLUTION: Two stripe patterns are stored in a frame memory 110. The stripe patterns are changed over by a pattern changeover portion 190, the two stripe patterns are projected continuously, and respective images of the projected stripe patterns are photographed and two photographed images are obtained. Edge extraction processing and code attaching processing to the respective photographed images are performed, and two sets of coded edge images are acquired. The obtained two sets of coded edge images are superposed, and an integrated coded edge image high in edge density and excellent in code distribution is acquired. By carrying out computation of distance measurement with respect to the found integrated coded edge image, generation of errors caused by algorithm can be reduced more when distance calculation is performed, than in the case where distance calculation is performed with respect to each of the plurality of coded edge images.
