PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hedge trimmer improved in user-friendliness through expanding the range of usage mode where the hedge trimmer can be operated with an auxiliary handle. SOLUTION: The hedge trimmer has the following structure: the auxiliary handle 12 is formed of a pair of right and left half handles 13, 13 which are rotationally connected to each other at their upper end parts via a screw sleeve 22; a pair of right and left connecting parts 14 to which the lower end parts of the half handles 13, 13 are detachably connected, are respectively provided at the front and back positions of a main body housing 3, so that the housing mode of the auxiliary handle 12 can be changed through selecting the connecting parts 14 with which the lower end parts of the half handles 13, 13 are connected to each other.
