<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station and a mobile station which can be highly reliably synchronized. <P>SOLUTION: A base station of the present invention includes a means for transmitting a first synchronization signal and a second synchronization signal to a mobile station and comprises a means for extracting the second synchronization signal from a set of second synchronization signals divided into a plurality of sets of codes in a first duplex mode, wherein the set being provided for synchronization in a second duplex mode. Further, there are provided a means for determining a second synchronization signal to be transmitted with the first synchronization signal using a set of one code; a means for grouping the multitude of code sets into used and unused code sets; and a means for minimizing the maximum of peak values of cross-correlation functions between the second synchronization signal and the first synchronization signal specified by the used code set by subdividing the set of second synchronization signals into the multitude of code sets. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
