<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To analyze how a microcomputer operates when executing user-created software, even if the microcomputer has only a small number of terminals, with no bus openable to the outside. <P>SOLUTION: In a test mode, a CPU 10 can output register information to an external device 16 by transferring a certain program from an external device to a RAM 11 in accordance with a test program stored in a test ROM 12, and executing the program. In an analytical mode, the CPU 10 analyzes using the external device 16 how the register information has been changed as the result of execution of the program at every step.
