PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a both sides engagement type silent chain in which outermost link plates into which linking pins are fitted and fixed can undergo no strength degradation in a link central part to thus be able to improve rotational fatigue strength. SOLUTION: In the both sides engagement type silent chain 1, link plates are formed by being linked with link pins 11 in such a fashion that link teeth 5 protrude to both front and back faces of the chain. An inward biased portion of the chain, inside link plates 2 are provided in such a fashion that the link teeth 5 protrude to one face. In both outward biased portions of the chain, outer link plates 3, 4 are provided in a manner that the link teeth 5 protrude to the other face. The outermost link plates 4 are formed more high compared to the other link plates 2, 3 in a rear height H+h of the link central portion 10, so that strength is heightened in the link central part.
