PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support of embossed mold release paper for producing synthetic leather commonly utilizable in production of any synthetic leather of polyurethane synthetic leather, polyvinyl chloride synthetic leather, semi-synthetic leather, etc., having heat resistance, withstanding repeated use and producing synthetic leather having a glossy feeling with high transfer properties and to provide the embossed mold release paper for producing the synthetic leather using the support. SOLUTION: The support of the embossed mold release paper for producing the synthetic leather is composed of base paper having a clay coating layer on one surface. The base paper is neutral paper having heat resistance and maintaining tensile strength according to JISP8113 at≥10 kN/m in at least the machine direction and tear strength according to JISP8116 at≥500 mN in both the machine direction and the cross direction even when allowed to stand at 230°C for 3 min. The clay coating layer has≥100 s smoothness according to JISP8119 so as to absorb surface unevenness by the pulp fibers of the base paper. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
