PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide printing equipment which enables performance of a platemaking operation without being aware of a copy size even in the case of double-side printing using a copy including that of a different size and enables prevention of a useless platemaking operation. SOLUTION: A double-side cancellation mode wherein a double-side printing mode is canceled and the platemaking by a platemaking section is made undone and an automatic variable magnification mode wherein the magnification of a platemaking image made into a plate in the platemaking section is changed automatically to that of a prescribed size or a user set mode wherein an equipment user is made to set an arbitrary mode, can be set as the modes which function on the occasion when the double-side printing mode, wherein the double-side printing can be performed, is set. When the size of the copy having a copy image to be printed on both of the front and back sides of paper is a prescribed one, the platemaking image corresponding to the prescribed size is made into the plate in the platemaking section, and when the copy size is not a prescribed one, an operation corresponding to the double-side cancellation mode, the automatic variable magnification mode or the user set mode is performed in the platemaking section.
