PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for automatically traveling a traveling object which is an apparatus of a simple structure with a motor according to an arbitrary traveling program without using a special field such as a matrix of an electric wire. SOLUTION: In the system, a port capable of transmitting and receiving radio signals such as an infrared ray is fixed, the radio signals are exchanged to and from the traveling object and propagation characteristic of the radio signals are used to detect mutual relative direction is detected.
