PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller with which the damage to a sleeve due to the thermal expansion of the roller and which is excellent in impact resistance in a conveying roller for a hot rolling line in which a sleeve having an electrically insulated layer is fit to a metallic core bar. SOLUTION: In this conveying roller for the hot rolling line, springs are arranged in the end parts of the roller, a metallic sleeve is interposed between the springs and the sleeve having the electrically insulated layer and compressive load is applied to the sleeve having the electrically insulated layer through the metallic sleeve with the springs.
