PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball cleaning apparatus capable of efficiently irradiating a workpiece with ultraviolet rays and having the ability to clean and purify. SOLUTION: The ball lifting and cleaning apparatus 1 cleans balls while holding and lifting the balls 2 between an endless transfer belt 10 and a fixed guide 20. A clearance 21 smaller than the diameter of a ball is provided in the fixed guide 20 and an ultraviolet irradiation means 30 to irradiate lifted balls 2 with ultraviolet rays through the clearance is provided on the reverse side of the fixed guide. The fixed guide 20 is formed of a plurality of lattices 22 extending in the lifting direction to lift the balls 2 while lining them up between the lattices.
