<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card reader for preventing a card-shaped object having a shape that is equal to or less than a standard size from staying inside a body even if the object is erroneously inserted. <P>SOLUTION: In a body 21 of the IC card reader 20, two sensors 5 and 22 are arranged at a position that becomes the side of an insertion opening 11 as compared with a motor 24 and a transport roller 6 and at both the sides of a transport path 4. A control section 23 starts carrying an IC card 3 by the motor 24 and the transport roller 6 when two sensors 5 and 22 detect the IC card 3, and stops carrying the motor 24 and the transport roller 6 when at least one of the two sensors 5 and 22 stops detecting the IC card 3 during the transport of the IC card 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
