The dashboard and the surrounding area of a state of the art vehicle is fitted with a large number of different devices (1) for the display of information related to various functions and, in the worst case, distracting the attention of the driver from monitoring the traffic. In order to reduce the amount of devices (1) some of the displays can be used for indicating several conditions of the vehicle. The blinking arrows (2) connected to the indicator lights could for instance additionally be used as warning or encouraging signals for turning into a particular direction by using the familiar colors red and green.
