Key interface apparatus for easy key input and electronic device adaptable to the use thereof

A key interface apparatus is provided in a limited space of a portable terminal for entering numerals, characters, and signs. A plurality of keys of the apparatus are grouped into blocks. Each block is associated with a different numeral. In a speech mode, the key interface apparatus always recognizes the same numeral, which is associated with the block, as an input, regardless which key of the block is pressed.
