511,666. Multiple-way valves. WHEATON BRASS WORKS, A. W. Dec. 2, 1938, No. 35214. Convention date, March 29. [Class 135] A selective multiple faucet or like valve comprises a body 10 formed with an outlet 12 and with a number of radial inlets 17 leading to chambers 14, each divided from the next by radial partitions, and from the chamber 11 in the lower part of the body 10 by a valve 21, any of which valves may be opened to connect the corresponding intake 17 to the outlet 12 by means of an arm 38 on a central shaft 35, which is rotated to bring the arm under the appropriate valve, which is then lifted by raising the shaft 35. A button 42 at the top of this shaft is formed with slots 58 corresponding to the intakes 17, and adapted to receive a lever 52 when this is raised so as to lift the shaft and arm 38 by means of toggle links 55, 48. A detent 59 engages notches 60 in the shaft at the various positions. In a modification the lever 52 engages underneath the button and is held by a pivoted detent when the shaft is raised. |
