PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a correct tomographic image even when the curvature of an acoustic window fluctuates from a design value in an ultrasonic diagnostic instrument. SOLUTION: A main control means 18 stores distances d1-dn from the acoustic window 2 to a reflection point by each acoustic element (1ch-nch) of an acoustic element part 1 in an internal correction memory. When a reflection signal is mapped in a frame memory (not shown in Fig.) by each frame, a DSC 16 corrects mapping in a transmission direction so as to allow the curvature error of the acoustic window to be zero by each acoustic element, based on the distances d1-dn stored in the correction memory, and generates a two-dimensional image in the array direction and transmission direction of the acoustic element part.
