WIDENING EXCAVATION MECHANISM FOR SHIELD MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a widening excavation mechanism for a shield machine capable of excavating a tunnel of a main line and a sidewall of a shield tunnel from a desired position continuously and simultaneously with tunnel excavation by one shield machine. SOLUTION: Independently of a cutter head 2 of the shield machine 1, widening cutter heads 30, 30' shaped to swell outward from both ends toward the center parts are arranged at a side part of a skin plate 14 so as to freely retractably from at least one side wall direction of the skin plate 14. The outer peripheral shape of the widening cutter heads 30, 30' corresponds to the tunnel cross-sectional shape in a widened part to perform widening excavation of the widened part.
