PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steer-by-wire system capable of reliably turning a steering wheel by an auxiliary motor even when a motor to turn the steering wheel is failed. SOLUTION: In the steer-by-wire system 10, a ball screw mechanism 24 is constituted of a ball screw part 23 and a ball nut 22 of a turning shaft 16, a turning shaft 16 is moved straight by relatively rotating the turning shaft 16 and the ball nut 22, and a turning wheel 50 is turned. An auxiliary motor 34 is connected to the turning shaft 16 via engagement of first and second spur gears 30, 31. Since the first and second spur gears 30, 31 have a structure of permitting the straight movement of the turning shaft 16, only the turning shaft 16 can be rotated by the auxiliary motor 34. Even when the turning motor 19 is failed and not operated, the steering wheel 50 can be reliably turned only by the auxiliary motor 34. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
