<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device which enables correct tilt control by performing tilt sensing to a non-recorded disk correctly before actual recording. <P>SOLUTION: Receiving an instruction for tilt sensing of a non-recorded disk from a controller 10, a power control circuit 9 supplies a control signal to a laser driving circuit 12 so as to drive a laser by a peak power of a level not to form a mark in a recording surface which is the same as reproduce power and a bottom power lower than that. The laser driving circuit 12 carries out intensity modulation of the laser beam by the power established by the power control circuit 9 according to the write pulse from an encoder 18 and the non-recorded disk surface is irradiated with the laser beam. A pseudo RF signal acquired from a return light from the non-recorded surface is decoded by a decoder 17 and an error rate is found, and the tilt angle when this rate serves as minimum is made the optimal tilt angle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
