PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch mechanism capable of easily miniaturizing and uniforming a space between a design member and a movable member, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: When the switch mechanism 11 is manufactured, first a space formation film 19 having a thickness corresponding to a space 15 having a width intended to be formed is intervened between the peripheral surface of a bezel 12 and the inside surface of a switch knob 14 so as to closely contact them by a first and second film in-mold process; and a connection film 16 is mounted so as to straddle the boundary between the inside surface of the bezel 12 and the inside surface of the switch knob 14. Next, a separation process for separating the space formation film 19 from the bezel 12 and the switch knob 14 is carried out. As a result, the space 15 corresponding to the thickness of the space formation film 19 is formed between the switch knob 14 and the bezel 12.
