<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the structure of the image forming apparatus of a mechanism which assures flatness of an image reader without adjusting a flat plane of the image reader. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus with the image reader (1), the support of the image reader (1) is composed of two sides (2, 3), one side of the support (2) out of two sides of the supports (2, 3) is fixed, and the other side of the supports (3) opposite thereto is formed as a movable type.
