<p>The lower section of a fluid connector/distributor is introduced as an individual part, or is integrated into a chip component. Matching connectors are fitted to it, e.g. from an injection unit. These alternatively take the form of a tightly-sealing plug, which may integrate a capillary or flexible tube. This provides for connection of a pump to the system. When simultaneous filling of a number of channels is required, the connector/distributor is penetrated by a number of holes, which are connected to multiple fluid channels in the chip component. The connector/distributor is compatible with luer and luer locking connectors, including miniaturized types. A seal covers the lower section. This is a tear-off or penetrable seal. It may be hot-sealed or self-adhesive in nature. It is removed manually or automatically. The connector/distributor is used with additional fluid reservoirs or columns, optionally for chromatography.</p> |
