PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly permeable hollow yarn membrane type blood purifier for medical use which is excellent in safety and assembly performance of the blood purifier, and is used for the treatment of chronic nephrosis. SOLUTION: The highly permeable hollow yarn membrane type blood purifier is a blood purifier housing a hollow yarn membrane which is comprised of a hydrophobic polymer containing a hydrophilic polymer and has the characteristics that the thickness of the hollow yarn membrane is 10-50μm, an open area ratio of an outer surface is 8-25%, the degree of thickness deviation is 0.6 or more, a ratio of existence of the hydrophilic polymer in the outer surface is 25-50 mass%, the elusion of the hydrophilic polymer from the hollow yarn membrane is 10 ppm or less, an UV (220 nm) absorbency of an extract of the hollow yarn membrane by a dialysis type artificial kidney apparatus manufacturing license standard is less than 0.05, and the bursting pressure of the hollow yarn membrane is 0.5-2.0 MPa, wherein the water permeability is 150-2,000 ml/m<SP>2</SP>/hr/mmHg.
