The material comprises a combination meltable polyimides or polyphenylquinoxalines and molybdenum sulphide modified with phosphorous-containing acid or ether. A self-lubricating anti-friction material comprises a nitrogen-containing polymer and filler. The material comprises 5-95 wt.% meltable polyimides or polyphenylquinoxalines as the nitrogen-containing polymer and 5-95 wt.% molybdenum sulphide modified with phosphorous-containing acid or ether or a mixture of the modified molybdenum sulphide with neat molybdenum sulphide, in which case the content of the latter is 1-90 wt.%. The phosphorous content of the material is 0.01-2 wt.%.
