The plate has a valve seat (7) adapted for receiving in support an exhaust valve (6) of a combustion engine (4). The seat has a plane surface (8) adapted to be supported on a complementary support surface of a crankcase (2) or a crankcase joint (9). The seat has a plane surface (10) adapted to be simultaneously supported on a complementary support surface of a cylinder head (3) or a cylinder head joint (11). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a combustion engine.
