PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce rotating operation quantity of an operation piece required in the case of removing a decorative panel in portable electronic equipment in which the decorative panel is attached to the surface of a cabinet in a detachable manner. SOLUTION: In the portable electronic equipment, an engaging mechanism which engages the decorative panel 8 on the cabinet is provided with a hook piece 86 projected on the end part of the decorative panel 8 and the operation piece 9 having a projection piece 94 which can be engaged and disengaged with/from the hook piece 86 and rotatably and pivotally supported on the cabinet. The operation piece 9 is rotated and energized in an engaging direction with the hook piece 86, two push up parts 97, 96 which pushes up the end part of the decorative panel 8 are arranged in parallel to the operation piece 9, the projection piece 94 is disengaged from the hook piece 86 of the decorative panel 8 in a state that one push up part 97 depresses the end part of the decorative panel 8 and after that, the other push up part 96 pushes up the end part of the decorative panel 8.
