PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily photograph a desired photographing object without missing the time for the click of the shutter by quickly and accurately focusing on and executing photometry to the desired photographing object. SOLUTION: The display screen 40a or the touch panel 40b of a display unit 40 for monitoring is divided into a plurality of areas. An external command signal for selecting one of the divided display areas as a focus area and a photometry area is inputted from an operation part 41. By this, a CPU 31a can calculate an optimum value for the focus and the photometry to the selected divided display area, and also, can respectively control an automatic aperture mechanism 21b, an automatic focus mechanism 21c, and an automatic shutter speed mechanism 21d in an optical system 21.
