PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a spot diameter and a magnitude for temperature rise, and to improve the image quality, by adjusting the spot diameter and the magnification according to the resolution of an outputted image. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises: a laser light source 1 which emits a laser beam; a polygon mirror 5 which deflects and scans the laser beam emitted from the laser light source 1; an optical component which focuses the laser beam onto an image carrier; a multi-face mirror 4 which is arranged between the laser light source 1 and the polygon mirror 5 and constituted by arranging a plurality of micro reflecting parts, and reflects the laser beam in a predetermined direction.
