PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic detector element high in magnetic field detecting sensitivity. SOLUTION: The resistance variate×element areaΔRA of the magnetic detector element per unit area is increased, that is, the magnetic field detection sensitivity of the magnetic detection element is improved, owing to a lower layer 14c1 provided under a Heusler alloy layer 14c2 in the fixed magnetic layer 14 of the magnetic detector element. The magnetic field detection sensitivity is improved in this magnetic detection element because crystallinity or regularity is improved in the Heusler alloy 14c2, this attributable to the low misfit rate between the lower layer 14c1 and the Heusler alloy layer 14c2.
