PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metadata application support system for applying beneficial metadata for contents without involving manpower; and to provide a controller and a metadata application support method. SOLUTION: A contents acquisition apparatus 10 photographs a picture, and acquires position information and time information serving as the metadata to be applied to the photographed picture data. The controller 30 converts at least one of the file name of the picture data or the metadata based on a predetermined conversion rule by communicating with a Web database apparatus 20.
