PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of protecting a lighting part composed of a semiconductor light-emitting element in a storage chamber by effectively covering the same, making the inside of a cover body less liable to see, and effectively applying the light from the light-emitting element to the chamber. SOLUTION: This refrigerator comprises a lighting device 13 composed of the lighting part composed of the semiconductor light-emitting element 16 mounted on an inner wall face 3a of the storage chamber 5, and a cover body 20 having optical transparency and covering an indoor-side of the lighting part, and a part corresponding to the semiconductor light-emitting element of the lighting part, of the cover body of the lighting device is thinner 20b than the other part.
