PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently feed power supply so that a backup battery can be surely charged in a recorder that has a storing part for storing timer reservation data received from a remote controller provided with the backup battery chargeable by a main power source, receives power supply from the main power source at a reservation time based on the timer reservation data to start a signal recording operation. SOLUTION: A set top box 2 having a power supply circuit for feeding power from the main power source to the recorder 1, a receiving part 27 for receiving the timer reservation data from the remote controller 4 provided in the set top box 2 and a control part 28 provided in the set top box 2 to intermittently perform power supply for charging the backup battery 18 until a reservation time to the recorder 1 on the basis of the timer reservation data received by the receiving part 27 and to continuously perform power supply from the main power source while the recorder 1 performs a recording operation by the reservation time are provided to perform power supply during the period for charging the backup battery 18 and the recording operation.
