Method of restructuring keratinic fibers, comprises contacting a keratin fiber with a dithiole compound (I) and simultaneously or successively with an oxidizing agent (with the condition that the (I) does not mean dithiothreitol). Method of restructuring keratinic fibers, comprises contacting a keratin fiber with a dithiole compound (I) of formula (H-[S-CH(R1>)-X-CH(R1>)-S]n-H) and simultaneously or successively with an oxidizing agent (with the condition that the (I) does not mean dithiothreitol). R1>H or COOH (where carboxyl group exist in the form of a salt); n : 1-5 (preferably 1-2); and X : a bond or a bivalent organic residue. Independent claims are also included for: (1) an aqueous or alcoholic preparation (used in the method) comprising 0.01-10 (preferably 0.1-3) wt.% of one or more of (I); (2) a kit comprising aqueous or alcoholic preparation and a preparation of an oxidizing agent; and (3) a fiber (preferably keratinic fiber), obtained by the method.
