PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of switching the field angle of a control target region corresponding to an imaging mode in the imaging device capable of photographing images in a high-vision system. SOLUTION: A mode setting signal for setting the imaging mode and a control target region setting signal for setting an imaging region as the control target are outputted to a signal processor 7 from a system control unit 8. A synchronizing signal generating circuit 7a of the signal processor 7 generates horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals and valid line signals showing the validity or the invalidity of a control target line corresponding to the mode setting signal. A control calculation processor 7c executes the calculation for each automatic control of AE (automatic exposure), AF (automatic focus), and AWB (automatic white balance) on the basis of the generated horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals and valid line signals. A system control unit 8 generates the video signal of an image pickup object image by respectively controlling a lens 1, an iris 2, an image pickup device 4, a front end processor 6, and the signal processor 7 on the basis of the calculation results.
