PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a gap between both substrates 10 and 30 uniform, even if sticking accuracy is not excessively high. SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display, wherein an array substrate 10 having contact holes 20 and a counter substrate 30 having spacers 40 integrally formed therewith are stuck to each other, the total region consisting of all pixel regions G is divided into a plurality of partial regions P, each having a plurality of spacers 40 and consisting of at least one pixel region G; and the plurality of spacers 40 in each partial region P are disposed so that when the spacers 40 of a portion are positioned at where the spacers of the portion are fitted in the contact holes 20, the spacers 40 of the rest are positioned, shifted from the positions where the spacers 40 of the portion are fitted in the contact holes 20.
